Yep, I’ve watched “Make It Happen” last night, it was a cool dance movie but somehow lacking something. Everything was there: the cool dance moves, great catchy music, occasional love story, the-talented-dancer-going-into-dance-school part and siblings story. It all somehow reminds me of “Save The Last Dance”, and SPOILERS!!!! The end of the movie is almost the same as “Save The Last Dance”.
“Make It Happen” is about a small town girl from Glenwood, Louisiana called Lauryn Kirk who moves to Chicago to audition and then enter Chicago School of Music and Dance. However after she gets rejected because she was not feminine and sensual enough, she befriended Dana, who works as a part-time burlesque dancer in a burlesque club called Ruby’s. Lauryn then got a job as a bookkeeper at Ruby’s. There she met Russ, her love interest, and also learns to dance more feminine and more in touch with her feelings. At the end, she starts to audition again and as you guessed it, SPOILERS!!!! she got accepted of course after also overcoming the problems of family business with her brother Joel.
Well… “Make It Happen” was just a thoroughly fun, enjoyable and easy feel movie with some nice dance moves and catchy music especially at the last dance scene where Lauryn auditions again using the recent released Lady Gaga song – Just Dance. I really liked the song after I watched that Miss Universe 2008. You cannot get the song out of your head after a while.
Luckily, the cost of the watching the movie was only $8 using Cinebuzz card, otherwise I plan to watch it only on DVD hehe. On Friday, I am going to watch The Mummy III, which is the Cinebuzz weekly $8 movie for this week. I cannot wait for it!!!!!
